Final Report on PCIM Europe - Nuernberg 2018

In total, 506 exhibitors and 88 represented companies showcased new trends, developments and innovations from various fields of power electronics on an exhibition area of 23,500 square meters. Notable was, in particular, the high proportion of exhibitors (about 50%) that presented products designed specifically for electromobility.

“Once again, the PCIM Europe was a successful show for ROHM Semiconductor”, praises Christian André, President of ROHM Europe. “We participated in many forums and discussions in the power electronics community where we made some powerful announcements. […] We had 3 exciting days of exhibition. The number of visitors on the booth was even greater than last year, demonstrating the attractiveness of our technology and the products.”

“For us as a leading manufacturer for Power Semiconductor Modules, the PCIM Europe is the important annual trade fair in this segment in the world”, states Wolfram Harnack, Head of Semiconductor – European Business Group at Mitsubishi Electric Europe B. V. “It provides the platform to bring our technologies and products to the market and to our customers in an effective way. We integrate this trade fair as a key element of our growth strategy. Once again, our expectations for the trade fair success were exceeded with the PCIM Europe 2018 and we look forward to the next fair in 2019.”

Over 11,000 trade visitors (a plus of 7% compared to the previous year) used the exhibition as a platform for information, networking and as a basis for investment decisions.

Visitors praised aspects such as the top-quality forum program with presentations on current trends and research findings as well as the distinct focus of the entire event.

Within the scope of the conference that took place at the same time as the exhibition, more than 800 participants from all over the world attended more than 300 lectures and poster presentations. The audience were provided with information on innovative developments in both industry and academia and were able to gather valuable insights for their daily practice.

“Thanks to the excellent organization and to its special blend of Tutorials, Conference, Exhibition and Industry Forum, the PCIM Europe provides the unique opportunity to interact with Universities, Research Centers, Industry and Suppliers under the same roof”, summarizes Silvio Colombi, Chief Engineer at General Electric Switzerland.
